Natalie Imbruglia and Daniel Johns Splits Up
Natalie Imbruglia, the well-known music artist from down under with string of hits during the past decade, is divorcing her rock singer husband of four years, Daniel Johns. Johns is the lead singer of Silverchair, the prominent rock band also from down under.
The two said they had ‘simply grown apart’ as the reason for their divorce. They have been living separate from each other in different places of the globe for years—Imbruglia is based in London, England while Johns is based in Australia.
Imbruglia, 32, and Johns, 28, exchanged their vows in a beachside wedding in Queensland, Australia last New Year’s Eve of 2003. According to the news, they had guests including fellow Aussie singer Kylie Minogue, actor Guy Pearce and Virgin Records superior Richard Branson.
They made sure that they separated in good terms and that they remain friends. This decision that was recently stated publicly has not been taken lightly or quickly by both parties. Due to their career demands and their lives in different parts of the world, they were brought to the point of making this difficult decision which was necessary for both of them. Both said that they have simply grown apart through not being able to spend time together.
Imbruglia played a role in the Australian series ‘Neighbours’ as Beth Brennan before embarking on a career in music. She later moved to London and there grew a solid fan base, with her biggest hit ‘Torn’ reaching number two in Britain in November 1997. Johns achieved success through his rock band Silverchair, as his band’s albums reached top spots in music charts and attained certified platinum status. Silverchair is popular for their songs ‘Tomorrow,” “Ana’s Song (Open Fire)” and “The Greatest View” among others.
